About BuyMeATea

BuyMeATea is a creator support platform built for India. Fans pay with UPI, cards, netbanking or wallets; creators are paid in rupees, to an Indian bank account, on a T+2 banking cycle with the UTR reference shown on every payout.

It exists because the established platforms in this category are built around Stripe and PayPal, and India sits awkwardly with both. Buy Me a Coffee doesn’t pay out to Indian bank accounts at all. Ko-fi does, but through a foreign-currency account and with no UPI at checkout. Indian creators were being asked to lose money on conversion and ask their audience to pay in a way most of that audience doesn’t use.

Who builds it

Jash AmbaliyaFounder, BuyMeATea. Builds the payment infrastructure behind BuyMeATea — UPI checkout, Razorpay Route payouts and UPI Autopay memberships for creators in India.

It’s a small operation and new — the platform launched in 2026. We’d rather say that plainly than imply a scale we don’t have, because on a product that holds your income for two days that distinction is the thing you’re actually assessing.

How the money moves

We are a technology platform, not a bank, and we don’t hold deposits. Payments are processed by our RBI-regulated payment gateway partner, currently Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd., and settlement to creators runs through the gateway’s systems. To be paid you need a PAN and a bank account in your own name; verification is a penny-drop check that usually clears in minutes.

The platform fee is 5% on the free plan and 4% on Kadak, with gateway charges for supported payment methods coming out of that fee rather than out of you. There is no payout fee and no minimum balance. Full pricing.
